Arsenal team news: Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez ready to start, says manager Unai EmeryƂ

Unai Emery believes Denis Suarez is ready to start his first competitive game for Arsenal.

The Barcelona midfielder is yet to make his full Gunners debut despite joining on loan in January – and has been restricted to just six substitute appearances.

Suarez was involved in the clubĆ¢€™s warm-weather training camp in Dubai and started in TuesdayĆ¢€™s friendly win over United Arab Emirates club Al Nasr.

He could feature from the start when Arsenal host Newcastle on Monday.

Gunners boss Emery said: Ć¢€Å“I think he is okay for starting in the first 11 or for giving us this impact after.

Ć¢€Å“But I think now, our focus is collectively very strongly focused on helping in 90 minutes, or 50 minutes, or one minute. We are going to need every player for the next matches.

Reports have suggested Emery holds fears over SuarezĆ¢€™s capability to cope with the Ć¢€˜physical demands of English footballĆ¢€™.

His uneventful loan spell also led to claims he has failed to impress Emery in training.

However, the one-capped Spain international hit back at his critics by tweeting a video of a goal he scored in a training session with the caption: Ć¢€Å“Working hard, learning and improving. PD: dont (sic) talk about my workouts if you have no idea.Ć¢€

Sarri delivered the Europa League on Wednesday night

Juventus are searching for a new manager after the departure of Massimiliano Allegri – and reports suggest Sarri has already been offered a three-year contract.

The news comes just days after Sarri, who took charge last July, guided Chelsea to Europa League glory in Baku to secure the first major honour of his managerial career.

Despite a successful season under difficult circumstances, the Italian’s future has been a source of constant speculation.

The Blues finished third in the Premier League and finished runners-up in the Carabao Cup alongside their European success.

After the 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal in Baku, Sarri said: “I need to talk to the club and make sure I know what I can do for Chelsea and what Chelsea can do for me.

“I love the Premier League and I’m lucky I’m at Chelsea but at the end of each season you have to sit down and talk.

Paul Pogba transfer latest: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backs midfielder to STAY at Manchester United next season

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects Paul Pogba to stay at Manchester United despite reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Pogba, the France midfielder, has been one of United’s best players since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in the dugout, though his form has faltered over the past couple of weeks.

Could Pogba be nearing the end of his Manchester United career?

Could Pogba be nearing the end of his Manchester United career?

These poor performances started after the end of the recent international break, during which Pogba appeared to flirt with a potential exit from Old Trafford amid interest from Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old admitted while on France duty that playing for Los Blancos would be a dream, especially now Zinedine Zidane has returned to the Bernabeu hot seat after initially leaving the LaLiga club last summer.

Real are allegedly ready to pay a stunning Ƃ£125million to sign Pogba this summer, and keeping the former Juventus star at Old Trafford will be one Solskjaer’s hardest tasks as he prepares for his first full season as United’s permanent manager.

The Norwegian, who was confirmed as the club’s full-time boss last month, does not think Pogba will leave the Red Devils this summer, however.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of United’s Champions League quarter-final first leg clash against Barcelona, Solskjaer admitted he expects Pogba to remain with United – for next season, at least.

“Paul is looking forward to tomorrow,” Solskjaer said. “He’s a Manchester United player.

Vertonghen, who was 21 at the time and a 20-year-old Alderweireld were part of a watertight Ajax defence in the 2009/10 season under ex-Tottenham manager Martin Jol, conceding just FOUR goals at home all season.

“Like Christian [Eriksen], [Vertonghen] is so cool, almost cold,” Jol told the Telegraph.

“He doesnĆ¢€™t feel any pressure. He was a left-back and a midfielder, but I made him a centre-back and he was so good next to Toby Alderweireld.”

Antoine Griezmann transfer: Manchester City ‘can’t afford’ Atletico Madrid striker, Pep Guardiola confirms

It has been confirmed Antoine Griezmann will leave Atletico Madrid this summer, but there is no chance the France superstar will be signing for Manchester City.

A host of top European clubs have entered the race for the 28-year-old Atleti forward, with Barcelona favourites to capture a long-term target of theirs.

Griezmann is to leave Atletico Madrid after five seasons

The LaLiga champions are understood to be ready to pay Griezmann’s €120million buyout clause, though there remains interest in the World Cup winner from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-German and Manchester United.

Manchester City were also linked with Griezmann earlier this week, with Pep Guardiola, the club’s manager, hoping to further improve his already superb side.

Despite claiming successive Premier League titles, Guardiola has failed to fulfil the City hierarchy’s greatest desire – winning the Champions League.

The club are expected to invest heavily in Guardiola’s playing squad again this summer in a bid to finally claim the European Cup, but Griezmann will not be heading to the Etihad.

And according to Guardiola, it’s, surprisingly, due to City’s finances.

Speaking in his press conference before Saturday’s FA Cup final against Watford, Guardiola said: “Don’t worry Barcelona, we’re not going to buy Antoine Griezmann.
