Merseyside Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to talk to in connection with the assault of Liverpool goalkeeper Shamal George and his brother.
George, the Reds’ Under-23s glovesman, suffered facial injuries during an attack in Liverpool city centre two months ago.
His brother was also left with similar injuries after the Saturday, March 9 assault.
Police were called to Red Door, a bar on Berry Street, in the early hours of the morning after the alleged assault of a 28-year-old male.

George, according to reports, was then attacked outside the premises.
CCTV images, released by Merseyside Police, picture a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
“Detectives investigating an assault in Liverpool are issuing four CCTV images today (Wednesday 1 May) of a man we wish to speak to,” a statement read. “Two men were assaulted in Red Door, Liverpool, in the early hours of Saturday, 9 March 2019.
“The man we wish to speak to is described as a white man, of stocky build wearing a white t-shirt, with a large tattoo on his right forearm.
“An investigation is ongoing and officers are exploring potential CCTV opportunities.”
George himself shared the tweet on his own Twitter profile urging for help identifying the individual.
He wrote: “This is the man who assaulted me and my brother. If anyone knows anything please let me or the police know. Thank you.”
Liverpool offered their support to the 21-year-old immediately following the attack, while also condemning the individual who put George and his brother through a ‘terrible ordeal’.
“Liverpool Football Club is shocked and appalled that Shamal and a family member have been subjected to such a terrible ordeal,†a statement from the Premier League club read.
â€Å“As a club, we will offer Shamal and his family any support that they require.”
