Harry Maguire had the last laugh over Matej Vydra after being described as ‘England’s weak link’ by the Burnley striker.
Maguire was part of the Three Lions side which, after a bright start at Wembley, destroyed the Czech Republic 5-0 on Friday night.
The Leicester City defender was targeted by Vydra before the Euro 2020 qualifier after receiving a red card inside five minutes last Saturday at Turf Moor.
And, despite helping England reach the World Cup semi-finals, Maguire was the target for the Czech strikers.
But the 26-year-old assured at the back and even managed to crunch his nemesis with a robust tackle – something he told talkSPORT he enjoyed administering.
â€Å“Obviously I like to do my talking on the pitch,†Maguire told Nigel Adderley.
â€Å“5-0 and a clean sheet so if it was someone that I looked up to or respected then maybe I would take it in my stride a little bit.

â€Å“To say it after we’ve just come back off a World Cup semi-final as well.
â€Å“I’ll just do my talking on the pitch and if he wants to rant around before then I’ll let him do that.â€
