Lee Dixon has revealed what an Arsenal ‘insider’ told him about the improvements at the club under Unai Emery.
Dixon played 616 times for the Gunners in a 14-career before calling time on his career in 2002.
There is no surprise that the former right-back still has friends at the club who can keep him well informed about what is going on at the club.
He explained how their training sessions differ from those under Arsene Wenger.
“The training intensity and the accountability in training with what is expected of them has gone up,†Dixon told Premier League Productions.
“I know that for a fact because I’ve still got a few people knocking around the training ground that I can ask how things are going.
“The little insider has kind of said training has completely changed in that respect, which I think’s a good thing.â€
Emery has guided Arsenal to 12 points better off than they were last season but some performances have been inconsistent.
The Gunners currently occupy the fourth, and final, Champions League spot with a two point lead over Manchester United.

“Tottenham at home they were sensational, they played well away from home as well, the game against United recently.
“But then they’ll throw in a Rennes (performance) away from home and some of the results they had in that (unbeaten) run they went on at the start of the season, they should have been 3-0 down against West Ham at home and they won the game easily.â€
