Manchester transport chiefs have trolled City with their latest football-themed road sign.
After telling Manchester United fans that ‘Pique’ traffic could get ‘Messi’ before their clash with Barcelona, their latest message pokes fun at City’s devastating Champions League defeat to Tottenham.
Pep Guardiola’s men thought they had snatched a dramatic victory in stoppage time, only for Raheem Sterling’s strike to be ruled out after a VAR review.
Their joy quickly turned to despair – and they will no doubt still be reeling when Tottenham visit the Etihad for the second time this week for their Premier League fixture on Saturday.
Transport for Greater Manchester have provided the following advice ahead of the fixture:
LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS
“City v Tottenham. Sat 20/04 – 12:30.
“Take the tram to the game. Picc – the Etihad in 10 minutes.
“It’s by VAR the quickest option!”
City’s neighbours have also been the victims of TfGM’s footy banter.
Just last week, ahead of United’s 2-1 victory over West Ham, the following sign was spotted:
“MUFC v West Ham. Old Trafford. Saturday 13th April. 17:30
“Utd need three points, but you don’t!!
“Please slow down.”
