Chelsea have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against their transfer ban, it has been confirmed.
The Blues were found guilty of breaching regulations over signing players under the age of 18 and FIFA issued the sanction on April 11.
After their failed appeal to FIFA last month, the west London side described themselves as ‘very disappointed’ and strongly refuted the findings.
They have now taken their case up with CAS, though they have not filed an application to freeze the transfer ban, so the Blues are still unable to register any new players this summer.
“The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has registered an appeal filed by Chelsea Football Club Ltd (CFC) against the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA),” read a CAS statement.

The Premier League club were given the sanction, which runs until July 2020, and were also fined £460,000 for 29 breaches of the rules on the international transfer of minors.
At the time of the sanction being issued, FIFA said it had ‘partially upheld’ an appeal but only in the sense that Chelsea will now be allowed to sign players aged under 16, providing they come from within the European Economic Area.
The ban on signing over-16s remains in place, as does the fine, although it does not apply to the futsal or women’s teams.
