Noel Gallagher has urged Liverpool fans to stop crying their hearts out – because they’ve still got two of the biggest KFCs in Europe.
The Oasis legend and die-hard Manchester City fan was feeling supersonic after Pep Guardiola’s men pipped Liverpool to the Premier League title, ending a thrilling race to be crowned champions.
Gallagher belted out ‘Wonderwall’ with the players in the dressing room after their 4-1 victory at Brighton, while Liverpool were left to ponder how they finished second despite one defeat all season.
The Reds ended up with a staggering, record-breaking 97 points – but Gallagher has absolutely no sympathy for City’s rivals.
“I can laugh. Of course I can!” he told talkSPORT.
“I’m surrounded by scousers on my tour. When they knocked us out of the Champions League and they smashed up our team bus, it was like, ‘alright, have your moment’.
“People from Anfield Road can be proud of themselves that they’ve still got two of the biggest KFCs in Europe.
“So can be getting on with that until next year or the year after.”
On a dramatic final day, Liverpool did all they could with a 2-0 victory over Wolves – and at one point the title was heading to Merseyside.
Glenn Murray gave Brighton a shock lead over City at the Amex to swing the balance in Liverpool’s favour, but his goal was immediately cancelled out by Sergio Aguero before Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan made it back-to-back titles.
“Fair play to Liverpool for sticking at it,” Gallagher added. “To lose once and still not win the league is insane.

“For the first 25 minutes it was the worst I’ve seen us play all season – and then we smashed it. We’re a machine.”
Guardiola’s remarkable CV grows even more impressive as he becomes the first manager in history to retain the title in England, Spain and Germany.
Gallagher was serenaded by the City players in the dressing room after the match – and he reveals a remarkable exchange with the Spanish boss.
He added: “At the game yesterday, we were lucky enough to get taken into the dressing room with all the players.
“We were talking to Pep after the game and he said something to me which was just mind blowing.
“He grabbed us and he said, ‘Next season, we’ll be even better’. And I just thought, ‘How?’”
