Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri could bring Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus if he gets job with Serie A giants

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is reportedly making plans about who to recruit this summer…with Italian giants Juventus should he get the job.

Along with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, Sarri has been linked with the job ever since it was announced Massimiliano Allegri would not see out the final year of his contract in Turin.

And according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Sarri would be keen on bringing one Chelsea man who has struggled at Stamford Bridge since his arrival.

Striker Gonzalo Higuain was brought in to solve the Blues’ problems up front with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling to make the desired impact since they arrived.

Higuain and Sarri have worked closely before, when they were at Napoli with the Argentine scoring 38 goals in his final season at the club.

And given Juventus are Higuain’s parent club, it could be a pretty routine process to get him in.

It is understood Sarri would also be looking to revive the careers of Paolo Dybala and Miralem Pjanic.

The pair have fallen out of favour under the previous regime but Sarri’s 4-3-3 system would give Dybala and Pjanic the chance to shine in a more attacking team.

However, Higuain’s position up front could then force star player Cristiano Ronaldo to move to the left of the front three.

Sarri’s future at Chelsea remains unclear despite guiding them to a third-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

They’ve also got a Europa League final date with Arsenal in Baku on May 29 – a game you can listen to live on talkSPORT.

The final will probably be Eden Hazard’s last game for Chelsea, with a reported move to Real Madrid looking increasingly likely.

Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic officially arrived at west London earlier this week but because of a potential transfer ban it looks unlikely Chelsea will bring in any more players, meaning they could also make loan deals for Higuain and Mateo Kovacic permanent to deepen their squad.
