Chelsea news: Watch incredible video of academy star Reece James at the Toulon Tournament

Chelsea fans are very excited about the future of Reece James – and it’s easy to see why.

The 19-year-old, who can play in defence and midfield, caught the eye while on loan at Wigan in the Championship during 2018/19.

He was named in the division’s Team of the Year and the Latics even game him the captain’s armband on his final appearance to show their gratitude.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing him – and the below video from the Toulon Tournament shows exactly what all the fuss is about.

Featuring a roulette that Zinedine Zidane himself would’ve been proud of, the England Under-20 star goes on a mazy run from the back against Portugal.

And James shows why he was drafted into midfield at Wigan by demonstrating his incredible ability on the ball. It’s like watching a man against boys.

You can watch the clip below:

However, James could not prevent the Young Lions from crashing out the tournament in France after a 3-2 defeat to the Portuguese youngsters.

Fellow Chelsea starlets Trevor Chalobah and Conor Gallagher started alongside James as England bid to bounce back from defeat in their opener.

Harry’s Heroes: Harry Redknapp praises ex-Arsenal star Paul Merson for opening up over gambling addiction on hit TV show

Harry Redknapp has heaped praise on former Arsenal and England forward Paul Merson after he opened up on his battles with addiction on hit show ‘Harry’s Heroes: The Full English’.

Merson was part Redknapp̢۪s rabble of out-of-shape former pros, tasked with shedding the pounds ahead of one last swansong match against arch rivals Germany for the ITV documentary.

The show, which saw the likes of Robbie Fowler, Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock, Matt Le Tissier, Ray Parlour and Lee Sharpe kick their beer and burger habits to undergo 12 weeks of intensive training and dieting, was a huge hit.

But amid all the fun, games and dressing room banter, there were some serious messages touched on by the former stars about addiction, mental and physical health.

One of the hardest-hitting moments saw David Seaman and Robbie Fowler speak with Paul Merson about the issues he has had in his life.

Merson infamously lost £7million to his drug, alcohol and gambling problems during the 1990s, and the former Arsenal star was later seen breaking down when speaking about his troubles, having slipped back into old habits during filming of the program.

“I’m struggling with life at the moment, struggling badly,” Merson said in an emotional scene.

“Life’s fallen apart – gambling… I’ve just completely lost control again. I’m digging a hole – I can’t get out of it.

“It’s the worst addiction in the world.”

Support for Merson poured out on social media, with fans praising his bravery and willingness to speak openly about his struggles, and they later celebrated with him when he scored a 90th minute goal to seal a 4-2 win over the Germans.

And Redknapp joined talkSPORT host Alan Brazil and David Seaman on Wednesday̢۪s Sports Breakfast to heap further praise on the Three Lions ace.

â€Å“David, you know as well as anyone, from all those years playing with him, what a great lad Merse is,” said the gaffer.

â€Å“The lads did great with the time they spent talking to him and helping him out.

â€Å“It’s a difficult one when you have demons like that. Gambling is difficult.

â€Å“We all love a bet, I know I do, but it’s all about keeping it in moderation, that’s the key.

â€Å“Enjoy it, but don’t let it ruin your life.”

During the show, Merson missed the team̢۪s training camp in Spain over his relapse and was filmed meeting former journeyman striker Drewe Broughton, who also battled with addiction.

Merson told him: “If I’m being honest, I’m struggling at the moment, really am, with the gambling.

“I find it very difficult. I’m back to virtually where I was many years ago.

“I’m just sort of like constantly gambling all the time and I don’t like myself. And it’s scary.

“My life should be good. It should be good. It should be like, two lovely kids, a lovely wife and my life should be good.

“And it’s literally going like that and I mean quickly and worryingly.

“In the cab on the way here I broke down. I’ve had enough.”

Paul Merson is now a pundit on Sky Sports and regular guest on talkSPORT

He added: “It’s got to that stage now. There’s got to be something wrong with me.

“I’ve been in treatment, I’ve done it a few times. I’ve been to Arizona.

“You know what, it was unbelievable at the time. It was unbelievable what they did, and that’s what scares me that I still went back and done what I’ve done now.”

Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool: Jordan Henderson broke down in tears with dad who survived throat cancer following Champions League triumph

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson shared a heartwarming embrace with his father on the pitch following his side’s Champions League triumph.

The Reds were crowned champions of Europe for the sixth time after beating Tottenham 2-0 in Madrid.

A penalty from Mohamed Salah and a late Divock Origi strike sealed a historic victory for the club and gave Jurgen Klopp his first trophy with the Anfield club.

After the game Henderson, 28, was quick to seek out his dad Brian, who was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2013.

The England midfielder was overcome with emotion as he hugged his father by the side of the pitch just moments after lifting the top prize in European football.

Brian had asked his son not to see him while he underwent treatment for cancer.

Speaking to the Mail last year, Jordan said: “I didn’t see my dad much in that time. Very little. He wouldn’t let me. Brendan (Rodgers) was very good. He said I could go back home whenever I wanted to see him, so I saw him just before he went in for his first treatment.

“Then I would see him again a few weeks later and it wasn’t too bad but, towards the end, it got to a point where he didn’t want to see me at all because of how he was.

“He didn’t want me to see him like that so I knew it was pretty bad. I was in regular contact but the only thing I could really do was try and perform on a weekend and luckily enough at the time, we started winning every week.”

Henderson played the full 90 minutes as Liverpool were crowned Champions League winners for the sixth time in their history.

Klopp finally ended his trophy hoodoo with the Anfield club, putting an end to a run of six consecutive cup final defeats.

And Henderson’s dad always believed his son would make it to a Champions League final one day.

Henderson of Liverpool lifts the Champions League trophy

As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, Brian Henderson said: “When he was ten I took him to see a Champions League final at Manchester United between the two Milan clubs and he said to us, when they came out to the Champions League music: “Dad, I’m going to play there one day.

“He’s done it not once, but twice. And he’s won one. I’m absolutely delighted for him.

“I think if he hadn’t picked that trophy up today he would have had a bad, bad summer. But now he’ll have a fantastic summer with the children.”
