A brawl which took place after Sunday’s Old Firm derby between Celtic and Rangers has left one man in critical condition, police have confirmed.

One stabbing is understood to have taken place at the Strathduie pub on Blackfriars Street, with the fighting continuing into Albion Street.

Around 15 people are believed to have been involved, with the three victims of knife wounds taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Two of the victims remain in hospital, with a 47-year-old in a critical condition and a 30-year-old in a stable condition.

Police Scotland are treating the attack of the elder male as attempted murder.

“We are currently going through CCTV and speaking to those who were in the area at the time to try to establish exactly what happened here,” said Detective inspector Peter Crombie, of the major investigations team.

“We are treating the attack on the 47-year-old man as attempted murder, and the attacks on the 29 and 30-year-old men as serious assaults.

“There may have been more people injured in this incident who did not seek medical treatment last night and we would appeal for them to come forward and speak to us.

“We also know there were a number of people in the area who may have got caught up in it, or stopped to see what was going on. We would ask these people to check back and see if they have any mobile phone footage or images that can help us.
