Neymar available for ‘just £145million’ next summer due to secret clause in Paris Saint-Germain contract

Neymar could be available for just £145million next season thanks to a secret clause in his Paris Saint-Germain contract.

The Brazilian superstar, the most expensive footballer of all-time having cost £198m, could be allowed to leave from June 2020 after three full seasons in the French capital, as a contract release clause becomes active, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Reports have said the former Barcelona attacker is unhappy at the club and Real Madrid have been monitoring his situation, as they look to rebuild their squad after a disappointing campaign.

The secret clause in the 27-year-old’s contract would make him more marketable to those considering an offer and a return to Spain much more realistic.

While Neymar has scored an impressive 49 goals in 56 appearances in all competitions since his 2017 arrival, his time with the club has been blighted with injury, Champions League exits and controversy.

He has only appeared in only 50 of 105 possible matches since signing from Barcelona.

Most recently, he was involved in an altercation with a fan after PSG were beaten in the French Cup final.

After the game, Neymar lashed out at a supporter who filmed the players as they made their way up the steps at the Stade de France to collect their runners-up medals and he now faces a multiple-match ban.
